My name is Martin Polanco and I am a physician who co-founded the first ibogaine clinic in Mexico in 2001. I served as Program Director and Medical Director until 2006. The program, now called Pangea Biomedics, is a Tijuana based ibogaine center that has developed a program that addresses the biochemical, spiritual and psychological components of chemical dependency.
My main responsibilities were: Web strategy implementation, hiring and training staff, business development, management, marketing, As Program Director, I was responsible for taking the business from concept through to implementation.
Achievements: Over the past nine years the Pangea Ibogaine Association (IA) in Tijuana has treated over 850 patients and encouraged several other groups to start treating patients.
Other ventures I have been involved in include early stage start-ups and clinical research projects. In 2008 the Behavioral Pharmacology Research Unit (BPRU) and Roland R. Griffiths, Ph.D. Professor, Departments of Psychiatry and Neuroscience Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine asked me to to assist with the study “Psychopharmacology of Psilocybin in Cancer Patients.” and I helped them develop and implement their internet presence and marketing strategy.
